Empowering restaurants as an Account Executive

I started my journey here at Toast a little over 2.5 years ago. I became a Toaster because of the culture, career opportunities, and ability to create my own schedule. Coming from a corporate based job where I had to overwork, over promise, and over deliver was exhausting. Toast for me was the breath of fresh air that I didn't know I needed. Being a single mom and having a team that not only supports me, but allows me to make sure my crouton* (Toast’s punny name for children) comes first, is truly humbling.


I have been in two markets now as an Account Executive. Being able to say that I truly empower the restaurant community to not only delight their guests, do what they love, and thrive at the same time is so rewarding. For example, one of my recent experiences was during this pandemic where our industry really struggled- no question about it. Toast allowed me to go out locally and help those Mom & Pop restaurants transition their mindset to be able to stay open- and to flourish. I constantly continue to help them adapt to the new ways of service by showing how Toast is a foundation for all of their needs for technology and as a partner.

Having my own specific territory where I can own my own business essentially is one thing; having an entire family of Toasters and creating many mentor- like relationships is an entirely new kind of experience that I am grateful for everyday. We really define what a sense of community is in the workplace. I am part of several groups where Toasters come together throughout all the different departments and form friendships that let us feel right at home. Also, having such a great team of developers that share what they have in the works and getting personally excited for those restaurateurs that I know will benefit from this is amazing!

As a field sales representative the recognition that I receive along with the promotions are solely based around my performance- which is refreshing in itself. I was recently promoted to a Senior Account Executive. I have recently purchased a new home for me and my son and even made it into our elite Presidents Club and Top Performers Trip, an all expenses paid trip to Maui…. I’ll report back and let you know how it goes!
