We are excited to share the inside scoop on our new office in Omaha! Toast first joined the Omaha community in 2017. Since then, we have been warmly welcomed by the local community and energized by the city’s expansive food scene.

"I witnessed a tech ecosystem that was somewhat undiscovered and a hidden gem," Chris Comparato, Toast CEO, said of his first visit to the city during site selection trips in 2016.

Our presence in Omaha consists of Toasters across the business- from customer care, to sales, to human resources and recruiting. These employees embody the Toast values and serve our customers with heart every day. Their dedication to empowering the restaurant community has helped Toast provide a world-class customer experience and live out our mission.

Now, we are looking forward to bringing that same passionate and innovative energy to our new home in Aksarben- “Nebraska” spelled backwards. Aksarben Village is the perfect place for Toast to settle, in large part to the many Toast customers in the area and the lively community. Toasters will be able to enjoy various dining options, family-friendly activities, and unique entertainment options- like the summer farmer’s market.

“This project has been a lot of fun to work on,” said Adrienne C., Workplace Experience Manager in Omaha. “I had the opportunity to work with new contractors and was lucky to have the amazing team blazing the way with fresh ideas for space and desk setup. The space curation of the Omaha office is unique and I am proud of what we put together. It is incredibly rewarding to bring ideas to fruition.”

In addition to these community benefits, our new office space will also enhance the employee experience. Our new space includes an open-floor concept, encouraging inclusion and collaboration, as well as spaces dedicated to wellness and relaxation. Toasters can unwind in our game room or grab a snack in the marketplace. Creating a space where Toasters feel engaged and welcomed is pivotal to the Toast employee experience.

“The Workplace Experience team here at Toast has been absolutely amazing. They do so much to make Toast an inclusive and safe work space,” shared Bash H., Segmented Support Manager. “I find myself excited for the days I come in.”

We welcomed Toasters to the new space during a week-long celebration, complete with executive speakers, conversations with customers, and volunteer opportunities. Employees will be able to come together to celebrate and explore our newest space.

There were also special surprises throughout the week, including the opening of the Toast Community Garden. The Toast Community Garden is a place where Toasters and community volunteers will plant, grow and harvest food to be distributed to those in need and will do so in a sustainable and local way, in partnership with an incredible partner, Omaha Permaculture.

Toasters around the world are regularly invited to volunteer events in their local communities. This is a cornerstone of the Toast employee experience, and something we’ve all come to deeply value.

"As a Toaster I believe in serving our customers, communities, and the planet. Toast Volunteer opportunities empower our collective inspiration and abilities to make a world of difference," said Andy M., Performance and Awards Manager on our Omaha Customer Success team.
