"If you knew the customer you were about to speak with was frustrated with Toast, how would you approach the call? "
What are some of the interview questions you were asked?
If you knew the customer you were about to speak with was frustrated with Toast, how would you approach the call?
What excites you about your company?
Toast changes every day! The product, people and space are different each and every day. Every day comes with it's own surprises and challenges, and sometimes you've just got to roll with the punches.
What opportunities do you think this role prepares you for in the future?
After being a Project Coordinator, you may be a good candidate for a Project Manager position.
What do you do on a day-to-day basis?
Keep things on track: Project Coordinators schedule all pieces of the implementation process. An implementation will normally include a site walk through, menu review, hardware shipment, hardware installation, training, and go-live support. We also find solutions to customer problems: When a customer isn't sure who to talk to, they often reach out to the Project Coordinator. As a Project Coordinator, we triage customer questions and direct customers to the appropriate expert.
How did you prepare for the interview for this role?
Before my interview, I read about Toast both on their website and on others. I also went through the job description thoroughly.
What unique skills have you developed over time in your role and at this company?
While being a Project Coordinator, I've learned to pay attention to detail. One missed email can make a world of difference.
What is your background and how did you end up in your current job?
I'm a foodie with a restaurant background. Before coming to Toast, I studied hospitality and worked in restaurants spanning from upscale french, to a local tea shop.
What's the hardest challenge you've had thus far in your job?
Our customers are particular about their restaurants. They like doing things the way they've done them in the past, and sometimes it's our job to show the customer the value in trying something new.
How does the work you do on customer support get translated back into the company's systems and product?
Project Coordinators work with the menu, hardware, and implementation teams to ensure a smooth transition to Toast. We coordinate each piece of the implementation puzzle so that Toast works the way the customer wants it to, when they want it to.
How do you interact with the rest of the company?
Project Coordinators are responsible for delivering menus to the menu team. Once a customer's menu has been input into Toast, we schedule a time for the customer to see what their menu looks like, before hardware even arrives onsite. Project Coordinators complete a final check of a customer's hardware order before submitting a request to the operations team. Project Coordinators work with the sales team to make sure we're exceeding expectations, and delivering on promises made during the sales process.
