Toast’s Orders Platform sits at the center of our POS and Digital Ordering products. The Orders Platform defines how Toast restaurants do business, including pricing, taxes, and discounts. Orders Platform systems accept new orders from many sources including Toast POS tablets in our restaurants, Toast’s web and mobile Digital Ordering products, and third-party partners like Grubhub and Doordash. After building the official record of transactions, Orders data is then streamed into analytical products across the Toast ecosystem. These solutions help restaurants do everything from optimizing the cost of ingredients per plate to scheduling the ideal number of orders to accept during a busy dinner rush.
Today, the key themes of Orders Platform’s work are: Deliver exceptional quality of service to our restaurants and partners, evolve our architecture to prepare for the future, and build APIs that are a platform for innovation by internal and external clients.
We are adding a Director of Engineering to this growing team to help us accomplish these ambitious goals. This director will lead and inspire their teams to deliver impactful software products with a high degree of quality. They will grow and evolve their team to meet the needs of our customers today and prepare our product for the future. As a key leader on one of Toast’s most essential products, this person will have a significant impact on the direction of Toast in the years to come.
Our in-restaurant products are built on a foundation of Android, Java/Kotlin, React and AWS, with DynamoDB and Postgres data stores.
