Toast is seeking a Portfolio Pricing Manager to join our Pricing team. Our Pricing team is responsible for setting pricing & packaging strategy across Toast’s suite of product offerings, and this role will be focused on supporting Toast's portfolio of ~60k (and growing!) existing customer base. Toast was founded as a Point-of-Sale company in 2011 with a limited set of products; today we are a platform company providing dozens of products across multiple lines of business. Working with the Customer Marketing and Sales teams, we help deploy Go-to-market strategies that simplify the buying process, drive higher revenue per user, and maximize customer value for our restaurants.

 

This Manager role will work closely with our Customer Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Upsell team to improve how we track and analyze data to support pricing and Go-to-market decisions. This individual should be a self-starter with strong analytical skills and a proven track record of using data to help drive business decisions. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Portfolio Pricing.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Drive pricing, promotion, and packaging decision-making through quantitative and qualitative analysis, with a focus on revenue, discounting, and funnel metrics – these key decisions include: When, how, and why we discount? What products should be bundled together and why? How can we maximize revenue per user
  • Use data to make GTM and pricing & packaging recommendations for our existing customer base across our product platform
  • Consistently partner with the Customer Marketing and Sales data & analytics counterparts to support best-in-class data tracking & reporting for the portfolio
  • Identify gaps in our data reporting and drive action to fill them by developing and updating pricing dashboards (via SQL, Looker, Salesforce reports, etc.)
  • Drive alignment with product, marketing, sales, & finance leaders 
  • Be the expert on portfolio upsell (and downsell) funnel metrics by product LOBs and report on KPIs associated with upsell

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements) 

  • Prior experience in a data-driven associate or manager role such as product marketing, strategy consulting, finance, or similar job role type
  • High degree of comfort with data analysis using spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google sheets) and visualization software (e.g., SQL, Looker) or a willingness to quickly learn – you love data and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to get to the bottom of a problem!
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment 
  • Highly collaborative mindset; experienced at working cross-functionally to drive results
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure tight deadlines are met 
  • You are a team player, enthusiastic, and have a willingness to explore, grow, and learn

Special Sauce* (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Experience with pricing and packaging strategy
  • Experience with B2B subscription business model(s)
  • Experience using Salesforce and/or interacting with marketing and/or sales teams
  • Experience managing analyst and/or associate level role
  • Role can be Boston-based or remote
