The Partnerships team is responsible for the end-to-end development and deployment of Toast’s partnership strategy. This includes working closely with our product and sales teams to develop strategy, scoping potential partnerships and negotiating contracts, developing relationships with external and internal parties, and executing the deployment and ongoing growth of mutually beneficial partnerships across a cross-functional team. The team manages Toast’s broad portfolio of Channel (lead-gen) and product-focused Integration partners. 

 

The Senior Manager of Partner Insights will work to strengthen Toast’s existing market understanding by developing, deploying and reporting out on partner focused deliverables.  This role will report to the Director of Partner Restaurant Success and Insights. 

 

This is an exciting new team that will have broad cross functional impact at Toast.  What we’re looking for:

 

  • Provide multi-faceted, strategic analysis of the Toast partner landscape by organizing and delivering qualitative (interviews etc.) and quantitative (data analysis, surveys etc.) findings 
  • Develop and deploy partner focused research from the ground up to inform Toast leaders on multiple business fronts including, but not limited to,:
    • Supplementing existing competitive intelligence and market insights
    • Helping to provide customers with better targeted, meaningful solutions 
    • Understanding the evolution and adoption of partners in and out of the Toast ecosystem
    • Exposing gaps in existing partner ecosystem 
    • Identifying potential M&A targets
  • Build on existing data sources (Salesforce, Looker, Toast back end) to improve internal quantitative analysis of partners
  • Become a thought leader on “Collaborative Intelligence”  to better inform Toast’s collective knowledge on working closer with partners
  • Work closely with Voice of Customer and Customer Advisory Boards to ensure we’re gleaning the maximum qualitative partner analysis from existing surveys and meetings
  • Improve Partner NPS by helping to inform and improve our API development strategy to better serve our customers and partners 

 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Someone who is entrepreneurial, precise, creative and self motivating to build and grow this Partner focused insights program
  • Very strong analytical skills and experience with primary market research  (both quantitative and qualitative), survey design, data analysis and marketing analytics tools and techniques
    • Experience with manipulating large, dirty, and disparate datasets
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (Google Sheets) & Powerpoint (Google Slides)
    • Minimum working understanding of Salesforce reporting
  • Ability to build strong, compelling storylines and recommendations that are deeply evidenced in both quantitative and qualitative research to move leadership to action
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across diverse teams to drive results
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple project timelines, and deadlines
  • Some level of comfort with ambiguity and the ability to learn in a growing environment

Special Sauce* (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Working knowledge of partnership dynamics
  • Interest and passion for startups, tech, and the restaurant industry
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
