The Go-To-Market Finance team is responsible for delivering actionable financial insights that support strategic decision-making within the Go-To-Market (GTM) function. We are seeking a Senior Finance Associate to provide financial analysis and recommendations that drive leadership decisions related to revenue growth, resource allocation, and sales performance. This role offers significant exposure to senior sales and finance leadership, with the opportunity to directly impact the company's financial performance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of financial acumen, ownership of key projects, and sound business judgment. Strong analytical skills, experience in driving strategic recommendations, and an ability to work with detailed sales data is key to success in this role.

 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Develop advanced driver-based financial models to support projects, enabling data-driven decision-making on business investments and strategic resource allocation in real time.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather data and produce financial projections and forecasts, ensuring alignment with core business fundamentals.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights: Synthesize complex data into concise, impactful presentations for GTM leadership, providing valuable guidance for business decision-making.
  • Transform data into strategic insights: Leverage tools such as Hex, Excel, Python, R, Snowflake/SQL, and more to convert intricate data sets into meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Develop high-impact reporting: Create and maintain queries, views, reports, and user-friendly dashboards that empower business leaders to take informed action.
  • Support GTM Finance with advanced analytics: Utilize Toast’s vast data resources to provide critical analytical support across the broader GTM Finance organization.
  • Analyze performance and drive improvement: Examine variances between actuals, forecasts, and plans, using insights to refine forecasts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on action plans.
  • Optimize processes for enhanced efficiency: Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and models, ensuring the delivery of timely and relevant insights to key stakeholders at Toast.
  • Identify key issues and develop hypotheses to guide in-depth analysis, translating complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for key decision-makers and the executive team.

 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, business intelligence, or data analytics
  • Strong project management abilities, demonstrating organizational skills, independence, and a proven ability to drive initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Detail-oriented with a positive attitude, showing strong collaboration skills and the ability to excel in a matrixed organization
  • Data-driven mindset with advanced analytical and modeling skills, eager to dive into data to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic discussions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive amid change and evolution

 

Special Sauce* (Nice to Haves)

  • Proficient in SQL with hands-on experience using business intelligence (BI) tools
  • Experience building interactive dashboards in tools such as Hex, Looker, Tableau, Domo, SiSense, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets financial modeling skills, with the ability to create detailed and dynamic models for forecasting, budgeting, and analysis

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
Pay Range
$102,000—$163,000 USD
