At Toast, the mission of our diversity, equity, and inclusion philosophy is to bake inclusive principles into our practices, equity into our design, embrace unique identities and leverage the strength of diversity to achieve the best results. Our ultimate goal is to invite and maintain an inclusive and equitable culture that fosters and celebrates diversity and has sustained business impact.

Here’s how we strive to create an inclusive workplace for our employees:

  • More inclusive health care (i.e. gender-affirming medicine)
  • Fertility and family-forming benefits (i.e. adoption, surrogacy)
  • Mental health benefits for employees and their families
  • Financial wellness benefits
  • Employee resource groups (also known as Toast communities)
  • Partnering with external organizations such as Out & Equal for their programs on LGBTQ workplace equality
  • Participating in benchmarking surveys such as the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index to continue to improve our commitment to improving corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQIA+ workplace equality

We are proud of the community we’ve built here at Toast, and we look forward to seeing how we continue to elevate the experience for all employees.

“The winners of our LGBTQIA+ Advocacy Awards Program represent standard bearers for DEI, moving the tech industry closer to the human-centered future of work all people deserve,” says Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “These companies remind us that change is predicated on sustained and substantive action, not just words. We look forward to seeing how they continue to foster DEI for employees in the LGBTQIA+ community and, by extension, for all employees in tech.”
