In July 2024, we were thrilled to welcome Toasters to our new office in Chennai, India. Since opening our spaces in Chennai and Bangalore in October 2022, we’ve seen the team expand, drive innovation, and bring our values to life.

This expansion will allow the Chennai team to continue to flourish. The office provides larger collaboration spaces, a training room to host various learning opportunities, and a central gathering area that can be used for everything from company-wide meetings to team celebrations. The space was designed to bring both local and company culture together. The bright and vibrant colors of the office immediately catch your eye and the Toast values are proudly displayed throughout. The local culture of Tamil Nadu is brought to life through intricately carved pillars and a model tuk tuk. 

The opening festivities were filled with passion and excitement! Toasters began their day with a ribbon cutting and lamp lighting ceremony. After that, employees enjoyed a delicious breakfast and spent time exploring the office. 

Employees were  invited to participate in a volunteer event with Toast.org, our philanthropic and social impact branch. During this event, participants made eco-friendly pens and tactile boards for local children with autism. 

Shivam A., People Operations Specialist, organized this event in partnership with the Toast.org team because he recognizes the importance of giving back.

“As individuals and as an organization, we get a lot from society, be it in the form of resources or business, and I believe that it is not just my duty but a personal choice to give back in any way I can and help improve the lives of people around me,” Shivam shared. “Toast.org gave me that opportunity and I am just happy to be able to contribute.”

After unveiling the office to Toasters, the Chennai team also hosted a Family Day, where employees were encouraged to bring their families in to see the new space. Attendees enjoyed a fun-filled event, which included delicious food, a photo booth to capture special memories, and carnival games.
