Growing our Retail Sales Team

Toast is expanding its platform beyond restaurants to include retail businesses, offering solutions for various food and beverage concepts like convenient stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. We caught up with a few Toasters on the Retail Sales Team to hear more about their experiences so far. Check out what they had to say below: 

 

What led you to Toast? 


“What led me to work at Toast was the opportunity to be part of a company that’s at the forefront of innovation and really making a difference in the way businesses operate. I was drawn to Toast because of its focus on solving real-world problems with cutting-edge technology, especially in industries like retail and hospitality. “

How would you describe the Retail Sales team? 


“If I had to describe the Retail Sales team in one word, it would be gritty. We operate like a start-up within a larger organization, constantly exchanging ideas and pushing each other to think outside the box. There’s no such thing as a wrong answer—just a mindset of how can we be better?”

“There are plenty of opportunities for growth and learning on the Retail Sales Team at Toast. How does your team collaborate with other teams at Toast? 


“Collaboration is embedded in our culture. On the Retail side, we work closely with Onboarding and Sales to ensure a seamless experience for our customers. We also partner with Product to enhance Toast’s “Better Together” model, particularly within our CBG (convenience stores, bottle shops, and grocery stores) concepts.”

“We collaborate every day with many different teams across Toast. This includes the Onboarding Team, Product Team, Solutions Engineering Team, Restaurant Team, and Payments Team. Each serves a unique role with bringing the best solutions to our businesses. There is not a day in retail where we don’t collaborate with other teams. This can be in the form of huddles, internal meetings, joint meetings with prospects or customers and everything in between.”

“One of the major reasons I wanted to join the Retail Sales team, is because of how closely we are able to work with cross functional teams to continue to build the retail sales org, to advance the retail product offerings, and overall customer experience for retailers using Toast.
