Shivam R.
Senior Software Engineer
As a software engineer at Toast, I knew I would always have the opportunity to think creatively and build innovative solutions. Although I was confident I would be able to grow with Toast, I never would have imagined how far it would take me.
Prior to joining Toast, I worked in India for two years, before moving to Ireland for my Masters degree. After completing my program, I accepted a software engineering position at Toast in their Dublin office. In my role, I worked and led the Identity and Access Management team that focused on authentication, authorization, and user workflows. This team covers everything related to user workflows, authentication and authorization of internal users, applications, customers, and our customers’ guests. It has a tremendous impact, as it ensures our customers have a seamless, easy experience with logging in, other account related flows, and all checks revolving around whether they have access to perform necessary operations.
In my new role, I will be focusing on Enterprise reporting and analytics, where we make sure our customers have all the data they need, in an easy to understand format, to help them make informed decisions. Not only will this experience give me the opportunity to continue making an impact through my work, but I’ll also have the chance to bring the inclusive, innovative culture I loved so much in Dublin to the Bangalore office.
I chose to join Toast because of the impact it has, and the huge potential to affect such a positive change in the world. We work together as one team in everything we do, and empower the restaurant community in the US (and now slowly but steadily spreading across the globe!) to excel. We are using the latest technologies and working with some of the greatest minds in the business, which has amplified my technical growth in so many ways.
After being a Toaster for 3 years, I’m still excited about all of the great things we do, and the ways we work together. I'm eager to bring that spirit to the Bangalore office. At Toast, we’re building great products and providing innovative solutions, all while thriving in an environment which takes care of every individual and treats every individual with respect. I want to do my best to make sure the new location is full of the exuberance and excitement that I always felt in the Dublin office.
If you’re looking for a role where you can grow immensely, see the impact of your work, and learn from incredible teammates, check out our open positions! This is just the start of our journey in India, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
*We love any chance for a great bread pun
