The Hardware Supply Demand Planning team is seeking a Senior Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of Toast’s global hardware demand forecasts, and will be responsible for accurately predicting future demand to ensure Toast has the right inventory in the right place at the right time. Specifically - the Senior Manager will play a significant role in designing, implementing, and executing planning and reporting processes for these plans, as well as integrating these plans into other functions throughout the company.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Lead the forecasting of global hardware demand by region and market segment, including Core, Enterprise, and International. Generate weekly and monthly plans that meet Toast operational needs, and work closely with stakeholders to integrate plans across the organization as needed.
• Develop, manage, and refine the demand forecasting process with statistical models using historical data, market intelligence, promotional plans, and other influencing factors to predict future product demand.
• Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy metrics and reduce bias across product categories.
• Lead demand consensus with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure cross functional alignment with demand assumptions.
• Communicate risks, opportunities, and the baseline assumptions of the demand plans. Work closely with Supply Planning lead and the broader Supply Chain teams in developing and implementing contingency plans as needed to mitigate impacts to Toast customers.
• Track and communicate month over month and cumulative demand plan changes by product by supplier.
• Oversee NPI demand forecasting, and manage all demand planning requests related to new product launches.
• Responsible for preparing global demand planning updates and presenting at monthly S&OP meeting with leadership and cross functional teams.
• Partner and work closely with the business systems team to develop internal and external tools to make the demand planning function sustainable and scalable.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in forecasting demand and budgeting in a high growth environment
• Expert spreadsheet skills; extensive experience building financial and/or operational models, analyzing large data sets, and collating data from multiple sources
• Excellent communication skills; experience presenting complex data to executive stakeholders; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
• Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
• Experience with transitioning from spreadsheets to systems, automating processes and tools

Special sauce* (Non-essential Skills/Nice to Haves) :

• Prior planning experience in consumer electronics or other high-value consumer goods
• History of achieving >90% forecast accuracy in complex product environments
• Experience developing forecast bias correction algorithms
• Knowledge of machine learning applications in demand forecasting
• Multi-industry or global planning experience
• Certification in supply chain management (CSCP, CPIM, etc.)
• Experience querying and manipulating data using SQL and/or Python
