Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.

As a Salesforce Developer focused on Orders and Subscriptions applications, you will be accountable for the delivery of solutions supporting business goals, releasing features that drive value for our internal teams and Toast customers. Contributing to the success of a highly skilled and fast-paced team of Engineers, you will be responsible for solutioning based on technical guidance and guiding the team in building scalable technology. You will seek engagement with business stakeholders, demoing solutions to gather feedback as often as possible as part of our agile delivery framework. When the time comes to test our solutions for quality, you perform unit testing and engage with QA team members, ensuring testing is robust enough to provide confidence in release. When issues are found, including those in our production environments, you are providing oversight and guidance to the teams root causing and developing the fixes.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Lead the technical design and drive the implementation of end-to-end Salesforce solutions across Sales, Service, and CPQ.
  • Drive significant projects to completion from design through successful rollout, ensuring solutions support business goals and deliver measurable value.
  • Act as a leader within the team, actively mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers on technical guidance and building scalable technology.
  • Actively reduce complexity and ambiguity through clear, forward-looking designs, maintainable custom code (Apex), integrations, and automation (Flows, Process Builder).
  • Activate the team to iteratively improve quality by defining robust unit testing and engaging with QA team members to ensure confidence in release.
  • Manage the Salesforce data model, ensuring it supports business processes and scalability.
  • Administer the Salesforce platform using knowledge of user management, security, data integrity, and system configuration.
  • Collaborate with architects and leaders to define, document, and champion the long-term technical roadmap and architecture for the Orders and Subscriptions platform, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
  • Partner with Salesforce teams to ensure consistency, reuse of components, and adherence to best practices.
  • Manage platform health, including monitoring, performance optimization, and release management, while providing oversight and guidance for root-causing and fixing production issues.
  • Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable and fault-tolerant integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g., microservices, data warehouses, AWS services).
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects from conception to production, informed by a solid technical and business understanding.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
