We are looking for a Director to join our growing Hardware Supply Chain Operations team in Taiwan.  The Director of Hardware Supply Chain is responsible for leading a team of operations program managers and supplier quality engineers focused on the launch of new Point of Sales systems for Toast. You will be responsible for driving Toast’s hardware manufacturing execution strategy working closely with our supplier partners across Asia.   This individual will balance a mix of strategic, program, supplier quality and operational responsibilities to optimize build plans for timely delivery.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure suppliers understand and implement all quality standards, procedures, and requirements needed to manufacture Toast products
  • Drive efficient production schedules and ‘on-time readiness to ship’ across multiple manufacturing partners (including product plan attainment, clear to build, and ready to ship)
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, monitor supplier performance, and drive supplier improvement.
  • Ensure the prompt resolution of critical supply, production and quality issues with suppliers and manufacturing partners throughout Asia.
  • Responsible for assuring product quality  - on-site quality inspections, audits, and maintain control plans to assure critical features are controlled through the assembly/production processes.
  • Support the NPI process with timely resolution of quality and build readiness issues through manufacturing capacity planning, ramp schedules, risk-buys, etc.
  • Work with supplier leadership in developing supplier capabilities enabling better launches and improved quality performance 
  • Inform senior leadership of trends, actions, and major supply/quality issues
  • Build a high performing team of Supplier Quality and Operations Program Managers 
  • Foster a Customer Service culture through active engagement, leadership, and a strong sense of accountability within the department

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Visionary leader who is results-oriented, can drive continuous improvement with both suppliers & internal cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • 10+ years experience in operational roles within manufacturing quality and supply chain, 5+ years as team manager. Preferably in consumer electronics
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers across multiple countries. 
  • Considerable knowledge of mechanical/electrical parts especially: Display Touch Panel. Power Supply, PCBA, Components, Cable, etc.
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Black Belt with working level knowledge of Lean
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA/SCARs 
  • Proactive working attitude and a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to speak and write in multiple languages - English, Mandarin, Taiwanese
