For me, UKI Multigrain is a massively important part of my identity at Toast; an employee resource group like this provides many things!
Local presence: The Ireland and UK chapters allow Multigrain to have a local presence in these regions, enabling the organisation to understand better and respond to the unique needs and challenges of these markets.
Cultural relevance: Multigrain can tailor its initiatives and programs to be more culturally relevant and effective in Ireland and the UK, leading to more significant impact and success.
Networking opportunities: Multigrain provides opportunities for members to connect with each other, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects, which can lead to new ideas, partnerships, and innovations.
Regional expertise: Local chapters can tap into regional expertise and resources, enabling Multigrain to develop more effective strategies and programs tailored to Ireland's and the UK's specific needs.
We host a wide range of activities. As part of our process in UKI Multigrain, we have aligned to three key pillars: education, external engagement, and intersectionality. So, our activities are primarily focused on those pillars. To name a few, we have hosted in-person Drag Shows and learning sessions with Dublin Pride, and we have started to engage with Belong To, a charity that focuses on supporting LGBTQIA+ youth.
Multigrain has been an amazing experience throughout my time at Toast. I have built some incredible friendships and partnerships, and it has really been an excellent career opportunity. If I did have to pick one event, I would say our Pride March 2023. It was an incredibly special day filled with joy, acceptance, and lots of fun!
“Multigrain made me feel welcome at Toast from day one by connecting me with fun, passionate and like-minded Toasters worldwide. Getting involved in Multigrain has introduced me to Toasters I would have never met before and not only expanded my professional network but also encouraged personal growth and self-development. We're hosting a Pride launch event in London at a really cool LGBTQIA+ owned restaurant and I'm really looking forward to celebrating this milestone with our community."
Miles W., Field Implementation Technician I and UK Multigrain Representative
“Multigrain is unique because we encounter all demographics within this community and really strive for inclusive programming by including as much intersectionality as we can, to ensure all feel safe and included.”
Nicole L., Senior Restaurant Success Manager and US Multigrain Board Member
“Being part of the Multigrain Community means finding acceptance, support, and a sense of belonging to me. It has positively impacted my experience at Toast by fostering an environment of inclusivity where I can bring my authentic self to the table and allowing me to thrive professionally.”
Markos S., Senior Customer Care Specialist and Multigrain Ireland Community Member
“I am a passionate advocate for our Multigrain community. The work we do not only fosters growth and development of a DEI mindset among our team members but also supports those who identify as LGBTQIA+ in bringing their whole selves to work. Ultimately, this empowers us to deliver products that better serve all communities that own, operate, and enjoy Toast-powered hospitality.”
Robert M., SVP, Engineering and International Executive Sponsor of Multigrain.
