This week, Toasters from around the globe came together to celebrate the opening of our new office in Dublin!
After opening our first international office in 2017, it quickly became clear that Dublin was a perfect match for Toast. Thanks to the rich food culture and innovative tech community, our Dublin team of trailblazers expand Toast’s reach, tackle new challenges, and empower restaurants around the globe every day.
"Toast originally chose to invest in Ireland largely for its concentration of high level technical capability,” reflected Robert M., Senior Vice President of Engineering at Toast.
In addition to the technological advances that have come out of Dublin, we are also incredibly proud of the inclusive, driven culture that we’ve fostered in Ireland. In 2022, we became a certified Great Place to Work in Ireland. Additionally, we were named to the Best Workplaces in Ireland and the Best Workplaces in Tech lists. These accolades are all thanks to our dedicated team of passionate Toasters, who live out our mission every day through their work, their community, and their commitment to giving back.
Cara K., Associate Director of Program Management, is a local community chair through Toast.org, our philanthropic arm. Through this work, Cara organizes and hosts volunteer efforts across Ireland to help give back to the local communities and bring Toasters together.
“One of the things I really love about Toast is the fact that we give back,” Cara said. “Toast to the Earth, [our month-long global volunteer campaign], was all about helping with initiatives that support the environment and sustainability. All of this was really just to get us all back together to give back. It’s something I really love about Toast- it makes it a really special place to be, and a great place to work.”
Now it’s time to say goodbye to our beloved Ballast Street office, and settle into our new space on St. Stephen’s Green. This office will include collaboration spaces, top of the line technology to connect with employees across the globe, community gathering areas for celebrations, and unique features that tie back to the restaurant community. We are committed to providing Toasters with all of the resources they need to thrive!
In recent years, the future of work has certainly evolved. Many Toasters have chosen to forgo the traditional in-person working model in exchange for more flexibility. These days, Toast offers various working styles that encourage an ideal work/life balance for employees- whether that’s fully in-office, hybrid, or fully remote.
Amanda H., Senior Director of Engineering at Toast, spoke with The Irish Times about Toast’s philosophy on empowering employees to do their best work from anywhere.
“As a leadership team, we strive to enable our employees to reach their career goals and empower them to do so through resources, programmes and open lines of communication,” says Amanda. “We also recognise and celebrate that each member of our team is unique and has different needs when it comes to work/life balance and we encourage our team to find and adopt the blend that works best for them.”
Regardless of where you do your best work, we’re excited to continue our adventure in Dublin. Interested in joining a global team that’s revolutionizing the restaurant industry? Check out our open roles!
